Every year, over 100 students, locally and from around the world, come to our Haskayne Learning Centre for Graduate and Postgraduate Counselling Studies. They get leading-edge, comprehensive training and they complete their internship and residency requirements. We’ve been educating students since we opened in 1962 and over the decades we’ve become recognized as a national leader for professional training in psychology, social work, and marriage and family therapy. Our training program is the largest in Western Canada and our students have gone on to practice in hundreds of communities across North America and the globe.
In 2009, we named our education program the Haskayne Learning Centre for Graduate and Postgraduate Counselling Studies to recognize one of our major donors, Dick and Lois Haskayne. As well as being long term and generous financial supporters of the Centre, Lois Haskayne served on our board of directors from 1992 to 2001.
