Take Charge of Your Life

Age: 18+ • 14 Sessions • 2 Hours Per Week

Equip yourself to tackle life's challenges, better manage emotions, and build resilience. Learn about common negative thinking patterns, setting boundaries, and long-term emotional well-being maintenance.

Are you facing challenges with low mood or worry? You’re not alone. This group is designed to support and equip you with skills to navigate life’s challenges.

Our goal is to help you respond skillfully to everyday situations, boosting your self-esteem and minimizing negative beliefs. The group’s holistic approach encompasses various aspects of life, empowering you to take charge and make positive changes in your thoughts and behaviours.

Through interactive exercises you’ll gain new perspectives and practical life skills. Plus, you’ll find support from others who share similar experiences. Feeling accepted and understood is a powerful part of your journey toward change.

Our 14-week program meets once a week for two hours in the evening. It’s open to adults of all genders and sexual orientations. Together, we’ll cover topics such as:

  • Exploring low mood from different perspectives
  • Finding purpose and vision in life
  • Understanding different points of view, how we see things, and common negative thinking patterns
  • Dealing with guilt and understanding responsibilities
  • Empowerment and setting boundaries
  • Nurturing healthy relationships
  • Planning for long-term mental and emotional well-being maintenance

This group is for those ready to take action. We expect active participation, including completing weekly homework assignments and engaging in learning opportunities.

Building Esteem

Build a more positive sense of self and boost your confidence. Designed for adults experiencing low self-worth, this supportive space encourages personal development and positive life choices.

Building Esteem is tailored for adults who find it hard to feel confident, struggle to assert themselves effectively, or have a tendency to view themselves in a negative light. Building Esteem provides a supportive space to grow and improve.

Throughout the 12-week program, we aim to help you:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of your worth
  • Recognize and embrace your positive qualities while working on areas for growth
  • Make healthier life choices that align with your values
  • Discover and use personal strengths in your daily life
  • Improve your relationships and boost your self-concept

Responsible Choices for Men

Designed specifically for men seeking to understand and address their aggressive or abusive behaviours, the Responsible Choices for Men program offers a place for men to connect with others who empathize with their journey, creating a supportive environment where feeling accepted and understood empowers the path towards change.

Engaging in group exercises, open discussions, and practical tasks, individuals gain valuable insights into expressing themselves in healthy, respectful ways. Themes explored throughout the 14-week program include:

  • Examining beliefs, values, and attitudes
  • Exploring sex roles and addressing aggressive behaviour
  • Navigating power dynamics
  • Learning effective stress management techniques

What to expect: Parents will learn essential self-care techniques, positive discipline strategies, and effective communication skills to enhance their bond with their child.

Children of Divorce is a 10-week program to support children (ages 5 to 17) alongside their parents through the challenges of divorce and separation. This program aims to equip families with the tools to navigate change, overcome grief, and foster stronger bonds amidst challenging circumstances.

What to expect:

  • Specialized sessions catered to both parents and children, designed to tackle their individual needs and worries

Turn for the Better

Age: 18+ • men only • 14 Sessions • 2 Hours Per Week

Gain tools and strategies to cope with the effects of abuse and cultivate positive, healthy relationships. A supportive and validating group for men who have experienced abuse.

Our Turn for the Better program is a 14-week therapeutic group that focuses on empowering men who have experienced some form of abuse in their intimate relationships. The program is designed for men who are committed to creating a better future for themselves and their loved ones by building healthy, abuse-free relationships.

Throughout the program you’ll gain skills in the following areas:

  • Understanding different abuse dynamics
  • Guidance in recognizing and taking responsibility for your well-being and that of your children
  • Tools and strategies to cope with the effects of abuse

We break this transformational journey down into five key stages:

  • Acknowledgement: Validating your experiences of abuse
  • Awareness: Identifying and recognizing abusive behaviors
  • Reconnection: Rebuilding your sense of self
  • Enlightenment: Examining and challenging pervasive belief systems

We know that being a teenager can be tough, with lots of changes and challenges to deal with. Self-Esteem for Adolescents is designed to help teens build a positive self-concept and increase self-awareness. Our program offers a supportive environment for adolescents to explore their feelings, relationships, and goals.

Through a variety of engaging activities including discussions, art, and music, participants will develop coping strategies and normalize their challenges.

Over 12 weeks, participants will explore key themes including:
