All of us at the Calgary Counselling Centre are so proud of our CEO, Dr. Robbie Babins-Wagner on her recent awards and achievements.
In June, Dr. Babins-Wagner was presented with the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Social Work Graduate Teaching Excellence Award. The award is presented to those who have demonstrated excellence in teaching social work students during the previous academic year.
Each year the International Association for Social Work with Groups honours individual members who have made significant contributions to the organization on a local level. This year Calgary Counselling Centre’s own CEO, Dr. Robbie Babins-Wagner, was honoured at the association’s symposium for leading the Centre’s commitment and support of group counselling work.
Dr. Babins-Wagner was one of three who were honoured at this year’s symposium. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the other honourees, Jane Matheson of Woods Homes and Ryan Geake of Calgary Scope Society, who were also acknowledged by the Association.
Also, this summer Dr. Babins-Wagner was invited to present at the Adelphi International Supervision Conference in Garden City Long Island. This conference provides an opportunity for mental health professionals and educators to examine current issues in clinical supervision research and practice within, and across, professional disciplines. Dr. Babins-Wagner presented to social workers, psychologists, nurses, marriage and family therapists, substance abuse counsellors, counsellor educators and other mental health professionals from across North America on the topic of Supervisor Effects on Psychotherapy Outcome in Routine Practice.
Of course these recognitions only confirm what we already know – that Calgary is a better place to be because of the work Dr. Robbie Babins-Wagner does.
