Calgary Counselling Centre is honoured to have been chosen as one of 20 not-for-profit organizations to participate in Spruce Meadow’s “Horses Jump to Give a Leg Up” program.
The concept behind the program is to increase awareness and raise funds for not-for-profit organizations that provided much needed help during the devastating floods of 2013.
Earlier this year the Centre was challenged to create an innovative design on a life-sized fiberglass horse. This challenge has been met and our horse has been on display at Spruce Meadows throughout the summer and will be sold via silent auction on September 10, 2014. Not only will the winning bidder will be able to take our horse home, but all proceeds for our masterpiece will go directly to help the Centre.
Calgary artist Byron Marks, along with Centre staff and volunteers designed and painted our horse to represent Calgary Counselling Centre in the community. The image conveys winding rivers, tall office towers and strong tree roots that join together to represent the strength, growth, stability and sense of community the Centre demonstrated during the 2013 floods and continues to demonstrate today.
Don’t miss your chance to help give us a leg up.
Bidding ends at noon on September 10, 2104 – just a few days away.
