Every year Brett W. Wilson hosts an annual garden party in support of various charities from around the city. This year he focused on general mental health. As prominent mental health advocates in the community, Calgary Counselling Centre was one of four charities to be highlighted at this grand event along with CMHA, Juno House and Wood’s Homes.
The event consisted of a number of speakers who shared their personal experiences with mental health, including former NHL Goalie and current Hockey Night in Canada Host, Kelly Hrudey and his daughter. Also in attendance were other prominent
philanthropists, athletes, celebrities, business leaders and members of government.
“The centre is extremely grateful to have been chosen to be part of this event. Brett Wilson is a philanthropist and a visionary who understands that charities need more than individual support but that we also need advocates. Brett’s voice makes a huge difference in our community.” Says Robbie Babins-Wagner CEO of the Calgary Counselling Centre.
And it shows. This year’s event raised close to $300,000 as over 1000 party goers danced the night away to various live bands in the beautiful garden of Mr. Wilson’s Calgary home.
All of us at the Calgary Counselling Centre want to thank Mr. Wilson and all those in attendance for their generosity and support of the Calgary community.
