The Calgary Counselling Centre has been selected again to participate in the charitable initiative with Shaw Charity Classic called Birdies for Kids (BFK), presented by AltaLink. With a focus on children and youth, the tournament supports over 100 charities who have adolescents as their focal point. Donations to BFK provide an opportunity for us to expand our children and youth programs and provide subsidized counselling for families who can’t afford to get help. The tournament raised $3.9 million for children and youth in 2015, and is expected to be very successful in 2016.
“Our participation in the Shaw Charity Classic’s Birdies for Kids program is an excellent chance for people to support children and youth mental health services in Alberta, and we are honored to have been selected two years in a row,” explains Kim McAdam, Fund Development Coordinator at the Centre.
This initiative ensures that we receive 100 per cent of every donation as well as up to 50 per cent of extra funding through a matching program. This means that your $50 donation could quickly become $75. The matching program gives you the chance to further your contribution to your charity of choice and make a greater difference in the lives of children and youth. You can either make a flat donation or a pledge for each birdie scored.
The opportunity to donate ends on September 30th. Extend your impact today!
